The QS survey process

What do the surveys involve for our contacts?

he online surveys take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

Academic contacts are asked to provide some professional information about themselves and their research interests. They are then asked to nominate which universities produce the best research within their field.

Employer contacts are asked to provide some details about their roles and their organisation’s recruitment interests. They are then asked to nominate the domestic and international universities that they believe produce the best graduates.

Questions presented to each survey participant are driven by their initial responses. For example, if an academic peer selects that they have knowledge of only one region or subject at the start of the survey, they will subsequently not be presented with questions relating to other geographical regions/subjects.

You may wish, informally, to make your contacts aware of this and advise them to tick as many regions as they are legitimately able to. This will ensure that they can complete the survey as fully as possible.

What do the surveys look like?

can be found on the QS website.

Which survey will my contact receive?

There are two different surveys - contacts will only be approached for their consent to receive the one that you nominate them for.

  • The Academic survey is aimed at academic contacts who can comment on Loughborough's research.
  • The Employer survey is aimed at contacts who can comment on the quality of our graduates. This covers a broad range of alumni, partners and industry contacts - not just direct recruiters or those in HR positions.
