探花精选鈥檚 Professor of Applied Disability and Para Sport, Vicky Goosey-Tolfrey, recently received an award at this year鈥檚 East Midlands Women鈥檚 Awards (EMWA).

She was named the winner of the East Midlands Outstanding Woman in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). This award recognises the individual who best demonstrates the most outstanding contribution in the fields of STEM, within the last 36 months. STEM industries may include physical, natural, and life sciences, electronics, computing, and technology-related disciplines, multiple types of engineering, and any field that requires a heavy application of mathematical principles.

The EMWA celebrates women from across different sectors, cultures and backgrounds, and recognises those who have impacted on society through various ways.

Talking about the award, Professor Goosey-Tolfrey said “I was honoured to be acknowledged for my work in STEM within Para sport at 探花精选, especially among such inspiring individuals who had made remarkable contributions in the public sector such as the police force. I owe a great deal to my incredible team at the PHC, whose support makes all of this accomplishment possible.”
