Brazil is a country with vast cultural diversity and huge social inequalities. Most Brazilian public hospitals do not provide adequate accessibility and inclusion for healthcare services users, challenging people with disabilities to receive equal treatment.
In the current scenario, it is fundamental to carry out continuous research in Low Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), in an attempt to promote safety and inclusion in the healthcare environment for all people. Therefore, in accordance with Goal 3 and Goal 16 of the United Nations Goals that deal with ensuring healthy lives, promoting wellbeing for all, and developing inclusive societies, this study addresses design strategies to provide quality of life and wellbeing for users with disabilities in Brazil. Besides, it seeks to explore relations between design applications in healthcare through products, services, environments, processes, and information as well as challenges in LMICs.
