‘Some Thing Not No Thing’ consists of a selection of work by Chris Bingham, Kate Freckelton, Kerolaina Linkevica, James Milner and Samuel Thompson-Plant, who are first and second year students.
It centres around the idea of ‘something’ being a sense or feeling, and highlights the uncertainty in seeking what we want and how we often have to wait for these.
However, do not think that this exhibition is without humour. In fact, the students have used humour to question our existence.
Samuel Thompson-Plant said: “The work in the exhibition is focused on what it is like to live through hope and hopelessness, and laughter here is seen as the best medicine for this.
“We all love to laugh because it gets rid of everything else, and humour here is dealt with as a powerful force which can easily flip and represent something much more rooted within ourselves.”
Students, staff and members of the public are also invited to the opening night on 2 April from 7pm-11pm, where refreshments will be provided.
The exhibition will then be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 12pm-2pm.
